About Anna
It was September 2018 when I first traveled to the English Lake District. I wanted to create a magazine feature about Beatrix Potter. Years before, I had received a book about Beatrix Potter's Lake District, the special story and the beautiful images had always stayed with me. The trip I made in 2018 resulted in a beautiful article in the Dutch magazine Seasons, which you can have a look at through the link at the bottom of this page.
After that first trip, many more trips to that beautiful area in England followed, in which I created a lot of articles for magazines. As a result, I got to know this special area very well, from the inside out.
My name is Anna. I live in the north of the Netherlands on our own farm. We have horses, dogs, chickens, a vegetable garden, a flower garden and an orchard. Our own farmhouse is furnished with old and antique farmhouse furniture, there is little new furniture in our home. We try to manage the land around the farm as naturally as possible. We have already planted many trees, shrubs and hedges and we are not finished planting. Maybe because of the way I live, I am drawn to the story of Beatrix Potter and her Lake District.
For my work as a photographer and writer, I photograph features and write stories for various magazines. You can find a lot of my work in the Dutch magazine Seasons. My features and stories are about outdoor life, sustainable farming, animals and traditional crafts. And about traveling, often to England, but also to Sweden and other European destinations. I also create culinary series for magazines, series with delicious food for which I develop the recipes, dive into the kitchen and do the styling and photography. Culinary series from start to finish. At the moment I am also working on a book.
I travel to England regularly for my work and especially Northern England is a place where I feel at home.
And as if I am not busy enough, I also run, together with my sister, a webshop with (real) sustainable paint, special wallpaper and more, Rosa's Hus
